Magnetic Variable ND2–32 Filter Pro

Witness the Difference

No Filter

ND2-32 Pro

Excess light is reduced, restoring blown out detail and balance across the frame.

No Filter

ND2-32 Pro

By cutting light and using a slower shutter, smooth, fluid movement in water and clouds is captured.

CoraNano™ Max Coating

Our breakthrough 34-layer nano-coating tailored for exposure control ensures ≤1.5% reflectance, true-to-value light transmission, accurate colour, and long-term resistance to dust, water and scratches.

Precision Exposure Control

The ND2–32 Pro allows creators to fine-tune exposure across 1–5 stops for motion blur, shallow depth of field in bright conditions and smooth cinematic video without overexposure.

Patented Magnetic-Lock Design

Magnetic-Lock rim adapted for variable ND exposure control locks in place instantly while allowing for smooth, secure stop changes.

Precision Control Rim

Square-edge grip with tuned resistance and hard-stop design ensures smooth, accurate adjustments while preventing over-rotation, shifts and X-patterns.

Design Features

Expedition-Grade Strength

Built with corrosion-resistant aluminium and dual-sided hydrophobic coatings for demanding environments and professional use.

Pro Optical Performance

CoraNano™ Max coated German SCHOTT B270 glass delivers industry-leading clarity, light transmittance and colour accuracy while reducing flare.

Responsible Design

A Certified B Corp, Urth meets high standards of social and environmental responsibility, ensuring a 10x net-positive impact.

Frequently asked questions

Can I rotate the Magnetic Variable ND2-32 Pro to adjust density once it's mounted?

Yes. The patented VND Magnetic-Lock mount locks the filter in place instantly while still allowing smooth, secure stop changes.

Will it work with my lens hood?

No. Magnetic Pro Filters aren't compatible with lens hoods, Magnetic Plus Filters or Magnetic Plus Adapter Rings.

Can I use a regular lens cap with the Magnetic Variable ND2-32 Pro?

Yes. Clip-on or side-pinch lens caps sized to the filter's thread diameter work as a cover.

Can I use a step up ring adapter with the Magnetic Variable ND2-32 Pro?

No. Magnetic Pro Filters are not compatible with Urth's Threaded Step Up Ring Filter Adapter or Magnetic Step Up Ring Filter Adapter, which is designed to be used with the Magnetic Plus Filter system.

Are Urth Magnetic Pro Filters compatible with retractable lenses?

Not always. Urth Magnetic Pro Filters have a larger outer diameter than other Urth Filters, particularly the Variable ND Pro with its wider, stepped front, which can catch the lens as it extends or retracts. Retractable lenses, such as the Fujifilm XF 23mm f/2.8 or the Leica D-Lux 8, can also be sensitive to added weight, so a filter may add resistance to the movement even when nothing is in the way. If you’re unsure about your lens, contact our team before purchasing.

Does it show an X-pattern at maximum density?

No. It carries the same square-edge grip with a hard-stop design built to prevent over-rotation, shifts and X-patterns at either end of the ND2-32 range.
