How many stops of light does the ND64 Pro cut, and when should I use it?

ND64 reduces light by a fixed 6 stops. It's best for slowing shutter speed in bright daylight for motion blur in water or clouds, using wider apertures in harsh light, or matching a cinematic shutter angle on video.

Can I use a regular lens cap with the ND64 Pro?

Yes. Any clip-on or side-pinch lens cap sized to the filter's thread diameter works as a cover.

Can I use a step up ring adapter with the ND64 Pro?

Yes. It's compatible with Urth's Threaded Step Up Ring Filter Adapter for smaller-diameter lenses. Select the Step Up Ring Filter Adapter, not the magnetic version.

Will the ND64 Pro introduce a colour cast?

No. It's built on SCHOTT B270 glass with the 34-layer CoraNano™ Max coating, engineered for true colour transmission and ≤1.5% reflectance, so white balance holds through the stop reduction.

Are Urth Pro Filters compatible with retractable lenses?

Not always. Urth Pro Filters have a larger outer diameter than other Urth Filters, particularly the Variable ND Pro with its wider, stepped front, which can catch the lens as it extends or retracts. Retractable lenses, such as the Fujifilm XF 23mm f/2.8 or the Leica D-Lux 8, can also be sensitive to added weight, so a filter may add resistance to the movement even when nothing is in the way. If you’re unsure about your lens, contact our team before purchasing.

How do I clean and store the ND64 Pro?

Wipe with Urth's Lens Cleaning Cloth for dust and fingerprints. The dual-sided hydrophobic coating resists water, oil and smudging. Use Urth's Lens Cleaning Spray for anything stubborn, and store it in its case when off the lens.
